Schedorhinotermes intermedius is your 2nd termite according to ABIS. Workers build a coating over their feeding areas to protect themselves from the environment, unlike other termite species that tunnel within the timber to feed.
Schedorhinotermes intermedius occurs mostly in coastal areas by SE Queensland to south of Sydney. There are several closely related species that occur in distinct areas of Australia: S. actuosus, S. breinli, S. derosus, S. seclusus, S. reticulatus (See the Pa DIL Australian Biosecurity site for more details)
Nasutitermes fumigatus live on decayed wood, nesting in the ground and in colonies. They feed on weathered and damp timber, like decking planks. Timber that is sound is not attacked by them in states.
The soldiers are somewhat smaller than the employees, with a body around 4mm long. The head is pale orange and nasute (pointed snout).

Walkeri feeds on on decayed and Engineered hardwood timber in moist conditions or in contact with the soil.
